How to Identify and Select the Right Productivity Tool for You

10 Things You Must Know About Productivity Tools

Are you following me? Well, take the internet. It is a powerful tool, isn’t it? Without the web and our ability to use it, how much harder would our lives be without access to information? I find myself constantly using the internet: searching for articles, listening to music and podcasts, looking up directions…the list goes on. If I was thrown into a time machine and asked to live in the “old days,” there is no doubt that I would be incredibly frustrated by not being able to find things on the internet.
Now, imagine you are thrown into a time machine, but it is not set with a 50 year delay, but instead a 10 year delay. You could steal one of those new computers and bring it back with you. But one problem manifests itself immediately: you have no internet. No Google. No Amazon. No Wikipedia. Heck, no eBay. These huge, powerful tools would be completely unavailable.

How to Choose a Productivity Software for Beginners & Beginners in Business

Are you following me? Well, take the internet. It is a powerful tool, isn’t it? Without the web and our ability to use it, how much harder would our lives be without access to information? I find myself constantly using the internet: searching for articles, listening to music and podcasts, looking up directions…the list goes on. If I was thrown into a time machine with no access to the tools we use today, I could never survive. Just like you, I am constantly looking for new and better ways to work and I have tried many of them. Throughout the years, I have tried many different productivity tools including task managers, time management programs and even organization software. Last year, I found three “must-have” tools that help me stay organized while keeping my sanity: 1) Google Calendar, 2) Evernote and 3) Trello. Although these tools have worked well for me, I was searching for something that met my needs better.
So what is it? What makes the Trello so great? Why do I need it? Why does it stand out from all the other task management and organization tools out there?
First of all, it’s free. I probably could have lived with just two of them (Google Calendar and Evernote), but Trello is simply amazing. It has a super clean interface and provides a lot of functionality while being easy to use. As well, you can view your cards in either list or calendar format.

1. Evernote Customer Insights
What it does: This application allows you to save notes and articles on your computer or mobile device via a free account and syncs them across all of your devices. A paid account provides more features including cloud storage, virtual notebooks and more.
Your thoughts: Although this isn’t technically a task manager, it does help with organization. I personally use Evernote to save articles and notes from the web. It’s great for storing ideas and thinking ahead about future projects.
