A Day in the Life of an Internet Professional Photographer’s Assistant
The day starts at the crack of dawn with a large pot of coffee to tackle some final emails and social media posts before I have to head out. I will prepare my portfolio for my client so I can head to the shoot at 7:30 am.
My client requests different poses and shots to ensure that everything is perfect. I help my client with her makeup, something she’s never done before, so she can achieve the look she wants. We have to also make sure that the backdrop is perfect on set, as well.
Our shoot was at a local park so we needed to do multiple setups with various lighting conditions. There was only one light source, one reflector and our natural light for some shots. We had an assistant with us to help us move and set up equipment.
We had a great time, and my client was really happy with all the pictures that we took at the park. She’s now working on her portfolio to get a lot more work!
