How to remove bathtub jets from bathtub covers?

bathroom cover remover

One quick and easy way to remove a jet cover is to fill the bathtub with water, add a cup of vinegar, and wait a minute. Jet covers will become dislodged from the tub’s interior surface. For many bathtubs the jet covers are screwed on from the bottom of the tub. Loosen these screws with pliers or screwdriver, then pull the cover off. Although one solution, another is to take a utility knife (or any flat object), and carefully pry open the cover.
Use a razor blade to cut off the small plastic parts that attach the cover to the tub. If you had a vinyl cover, then you might also need to cut off some of the backing. For metal covers, simply pull it off. Here is another video showing how to remove a plastic toilet seat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XE1djcy0-k
A toilet seat cover replacement is another solution. First, determine which type of public fixture your toilet seat was attached to. In some cases it will be a simple bolt, but in other installations one or more screws will be used to hold the cover on the rim of the bowl.
If you are in possession of a screwdriver and pliers, take a look at the screw holding your seat on. Generally, a hexagon head or four-headed screw is used. Make a circle with your screwdriver and make note of where the screw is located. A few inches around the rim of your bowl are adequate to create room for the seat cover replacement.

The second option involves making an incision on the outer edge of each cover and pulling it off by hand. As for the vanities, you can remove the jet covers by loosening the screws, then pulling it off the mount. [continue reading]

You can also use a sponge or cloth to remove jets out of your bathtub. Just wet the sponge with soap and run the jets clean. Dampen the cloth and squeeze all water out so it is not dripping wet. Then press it against the jets at one end only and rub it back and forth over the surface of the jets to dislodge them from the tub walls. The soap should help loosen any dirt or grime that may be on them. Occasionally, you may have to press harder, but never exert any force that might cause damage or harm to your tub. If any jets are stuck, molding strips may be needed for removal. [continue reading]
