In a tragic accident that occurred on Interstate 77 in Virginia on Wednesday, June 12th, 3 people were killed and 7 were injured. According to Virginia State Police spokesperson Corinne N. Geller, the accident occurred at around 11:48 PM. The crash involved a Dodge Durango, which was being driven by 21-year-old Benjamin Robert Grady of Frederick, Maryland, and a Honda Pilot. Geller stated that the driver of the Durango was traveling northbound on I-77 when his vehicle crossed the median and crashed head-on into the Pilot, which was traveling in the opposite direction. Geller stated that a third vehicle, an Audi A4 sedan, was also involved in the accident. It is believed that the driver of the Audi rear-ended the Pilot after it had been struck by the Durango.

The Fairfax Hospital press release states that “two patients were taken to Fairfax Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on I-77 South at 4:35pm.” The Virginia State Police have stated that it is “too early to speculate on the cause of the accident”.
