Most people don’t actually like being alone and would rather have a partner in their life that they can confide in, share precious moments with and enjoy the company of. When people are on their own, they usually feel lonely, which is why they tend to seek out a relationship to fill the void that is left behind.
More than likely, most people will almost always opt for being alone or as we abbreviate, L.A. I must admit that there are times when L.A. is preferable to being with someone, even if it means being lonely, because it leaves me with more time and space to do what I wish without having to split my time with someone else.
However, there are some people that would rather be alone. When you’re the kind of person that doesn’t crave human company, you may just be the loner type. This can make certain situations uncomfortable for everyone, as it’s often best for everyone involved to have company if you’re going to spend extended periods of time together.
Some loners like being alone simply because they enjoy their own company and wouldn’t mind keeping a door closed until it becomes necessary to open it again. Some people like being alone because they are more private and don’t have to worry about upsetting other people with their habits and traits. Some would rather be alone because it’s a feeling of control that they get from not having to answer to anyone else.

People can be alone for different reasons. They may have just lost a loved one and need time to grieve, or may be too busy to date due to having a demanding career or raising kids with no help whatsoever. Sometimes people don’t have time to go on dates and will simply stay in their apartment all day watching Netflix. Regardless of the reason, being alone is never something to be looked down upon because it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are unhappy or unloved. Most single people will tell you that being alone has been the best thing for them and it benefits them to live in their own space. And if you are among them, don’t hide it. Why not accept your situation, embrace it and use it to your advantage and start living the single life free of commitments?

If you ever visit someone, you can always tell them to leave your place if they make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. You are not responsible for other people’s feelings and no matter how many bad dates you have, at the end of the day you will get to choose who will be in your life.

You are not forced to be with someone just because he or she wants to meet up for coffee and try to romance you. You get a lot of freedom and control over your schedule. You have the choice of when you want to impress someone or when you want to relax by yourself.

Why Do We Feel Alone?

People are often afraid of being alone or believe that it means that they are unlovable and inadequate. While there is some truth to this, most people that live alone do so for a specific reason and in most cases, it is not a bad thing at all. Here are some of the reasons why people feel alone, and why it is not a bad thing to be alone:
It is hard to have a partner: Some people just don’t have the time or in some cases, they are unable to have the time that is needed to build a relationship. If you are single at the moment, it doesn’t mean that you are a failure. You just haven’t met the right person yet, and worrying about it can be a waste of your time as well as make you feel bad about yourself.

How Can You Change The Way You Think And Deal With Feeling Lonely?

If you’re feeling lonely, try to change the things that are causing you to feel this way first. If you’re bored and want some company, go out and meet friends or family. When you feel like there is no one who cares about your feelings or problems, try talking to someone who can help you make sense of things and improve your life. Try not to be afraid to open up to others because you never know when you might find a good friend or lover who understands what you’re going through.
If you’re feeling lonely, try to change the things that are causing you to feel this way first. If your parents are always fighting, maybe you could suggest trying a marriage counselor. This can help improve their relationship and also make you feel like they are more interested in spending time with you.
Be open to meeting new people when you feel like this as well. A simple conversation at the store or even striking up a conversation with a total stranger can help make your loneliness go away. It can be good to talk to people you don’t know so that you can learn new things and make new friends.
It is okay to ask for help if you live alone. It’s also okay to put some time aside as a couple to do something nice together. Being able to talk about your loneliness will lead you both to feel better about how your relationship is going and it will help improve the quality of it.
