The 15 Best Chick-fil-A Restaurants in South Carolina

1. Mt Pleasant Chick-fil-A

The much-anticipated opening of the first Chick-Fil-A in Mount Pleasant came with a whole lot of fanfare, including a ceremonial ribbon cutting by MLive.com’s Andrew Krietz and Montgomery Mayor Isiah Leggett.
The shop, located at the corner of N. Main Street and W. Ottawa Avenue just south of the Raisinville Bridge, has been a work-in-progress for some time.
Michael Robinson, owner of Black River Market, said he bought the building – then a gas station called Michael’s – in February 2011 and spent money on it over the next year before finally settling on opening a fast food restaurant there.
Robinson said he was holding off on opening because of the economy.
“It was slow, so I’ve been re-evaluating and going, ‘Is this the right time?'” Robinson said about what it took for him to finally open his 1,000-square-foot shop. “Then my daughter asked me to come down here and lease it.”
The daughter is Edna T. Robinson, who has worked for MLive Media Group for about 15 years.
The opening has been delayed by a few weeks, Robinson said, in part because he just put down the new tile floor in the store and also because he had to complete some minor plumbing work.

2. Anderson Chick Fil A

The opening of the much-anticipated Chick-Fil-A on the Baker College campus in Mount Pleasant was a success, according to MLive reports. The store, which opened in October 2013, is the third Chick-Fil-A in the area.
Chick-Fil-A was founded in the Atlanta, Ga. suburb of Coweta in the late 1940s by S. Truett Cathy, who wanted to create a fast food restaurant of good quality and service, according to background material from MLive. The company’s goal is to “deliver food, fast!®.”
The new Chick-Fil-A is on the Baker College campus on John Creek Road in Mount Pleasant. Baker College is one of three educational institutions in the area – along with Central Michigan University and The University of Michigan – that offer students Chick-Fil-A as a meal option.

The other Chick-Fil-A locations on campus are also very popular among students, but for different reasons. The one by Memorial Hall is the most popular for kids, while the restaurant by the University Bookstore has some students ticked off because they say they’ve been waiting in very long lines.
