Greenwood Gardens located just outside Carlsbad New Mexico is one of the most unique places you will ever find. It offers a completely different way of life. Green Valley Gardens has a beautiful golf course and incredible nature as well as great dining, shopping, and entertainment throughout the year. The massive community has some great community pride that you would expect in such an affluent area. The people of Greenwood Gardens are very friendly and welcoming. It has a quiet, laid-back atmosphere that is entirely unique from the other places in town. The climate is also much more pleasant with temperatures skyrocketing in summer, being 100 degree days once every few weeks and some winter nights being above freezing. The snow doesn’t last for very long either and it never snows on Christmas or Easter (if you are a Christian). Green Valley does have a few things that the Colony doesn’t such as a super high cost of living and busy nightlife.

El Paso has a great location. It is only a few hours from many other major cities such as Dallas, San Antonio and Phoenix. Retirees can spend time in all those cities and visit their family, friends and doctors for checkups without ever thinking about driving! The weather here is fantastic. It’s hot in the summer but a nice sunny 85 degrees, not too hot for spending the afternoon outdoors at the zoo or mall. The winters are mild with temperatures that normally drop to around 60 degrees during December, January and February. The rain is also very unpredictable. If you go here in the Spring and early summer there will normally be a few days of rain followed by a dry spell, but if you end up over at the zoo on a rainy day you will soon find out how dry this desert is!
