Introduction: What is 1330 Turner Blvd Omaha Nebraska 68105?
The address 1330 Turner Blvd. is not as evident as one would think. If one were to look at it they would assume it to be a street address. But this is not the case. The address actually refers to a shopping center that lies in the area of the 1300 and 1400 block of Turner Blvd. So, where exactly does that location lie in Omaha? It lies in an industrial area just north of the Florence neighborhood. Now, the immediate vicinity has many businesses and houses but there is not much else. With this being said the area is quite obscure. The actual 1330 Turner Blvd shopping center is actually visible from Millard airport that lies just south of it but this does not make it noticeable. It remains as a thin sliver of land that lies between Highway 370 and the BNSF railroad. The area around has only a few businesses including a warehouse store and an auto repair shop. It is obvious that the area lacks traffic as it is rarely busy even on the weekends. The only time it really gets busy is when people are dropping their cars off for repairs or picking them up.
How to Get There
The address in question is located across the street from the First National Bank Plaza. One can see it from the Omaha Botanical Garden. The reason why I mention it is because there are several avenues that lead to this location. You won’t necessarily notice it if you’re walking down 6th Street, but if you’re looking for something of this nature, one should really look at 4th Street, 5th street and 6th street. Once you get to 6th street, you’ll have to look straight across at the 1400 block of Turner Blvd. which is all by itself on the northeast corner. If one were to drive by, they would think it is just a normal office building on a lot that is in-between two other office buildings. But once one walks up to this building and sees the plaque on the right-hand side of the double doors, they would realize it is not just a normal office building.
The plaque reads: “This building is placed in trust for the people of Omaha by Charles W. Gates, Jr.”
What is the Building Like?
The building is large. It’s at least two stories tall, although I’m not entirely sure since I haven’t been inside. It looks like a typical office building with a brick and a square shape. The outside walls aren’t the most attractive of walls, but the building itself isn’t too shabby looking. It’s definitely not the prettiest looking building in Omaha, but it is by no means ugly. It’s simply a building that has been erected for more than a decade, but it is not old. In my opinion, that might actually be the reason it looks nice. Not very many people can say they’ve worked in an office building that’s been around since the turn of the century, I can. The building is simply a fairly typical office building, but nobody could possibly be nostalgic over it, considering the massive redevelopment happening around it.
Why I posted this:
What is Available Inside?
According to thier website, www.turnerplace.com , there are several shops and restaurants that are available for customers to visit. Some of the establishments include: a dry cleaners, a bank, an optical shop, and much more. Most of them seem like normal businesses one might find in any city across the United States. But I have never been inside of any of the establishments so I don’t know exactly what goes on inside of them.
So I thought it would be interesting to go on a virtual tour of what is available inside. I hope to provide the viewers with some links for further research on these different establishments.
Also, I will be providing pictures of what is currently inside the five different shops that are available for customers to visit at Turner Place. The pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them so you can get a better look at what’s inside each business. I have taken a digital picture of each establishment including the front and the inside of each business to give you a better idea of what they look like inside.
