Charters River Pioneer’s Story – From A Childhood In An Industrialised World To A Life On The Pilgrims’ Route

The story of the Chatter’s comes from a family by the name of Moorhead. The Moorhead’s came to America and settled in Chatter’s River, an area in modern day Pigeon Forge, TN and Sevierville, TN. When the first white settlers of this area purchased land in what was then called “Chatter’s River”, they came to this land as part of a company called Pilgrim’s Pride Company. The Chatter’s River area was in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. The land that the Moorhead’s settled on was well suited for timber cutting and cultivation. The settlers worked hard on the land they owned but saw little hope to ever have any prosperity. Their future was dim as they saw their neighbors making money and taking care of themselves while they (the settlers) stayed poor and humble. This led to separating from the others, as many families did, on their own. Finally, in the early 1800’s the settlers realized they would have to leave and make a better life. One cabin owner, Henry Moorhead sold a land deed to John Chatters of Pittsburgh, Pa for $5.00 per acre of land. It was the start of what became Pigeon Forge Virginia.

How I Met My Wife On Our First Date – What is the best romantic memory before marriage?

The story of how I met my wife is a simple tale of a man, who was given a task to accomplish, did so and learned from it. The task was that I needed to take my wife’s mother on a date. Of course her mother, who was only half paying attention to me and the conversation, kept interjecting on a regular basis and making remarks about what she thought of me. She seemed to be back stabbing our date from the start. I, who was only thinking about my date and her, didn’t let her bother me and just ignored her remark. After dinner the conversation proceeded on a level of its own. I continued to ignore her remarks, which by this time had turned into “jokes” because we were laughing at each other’s jokes. All of a sudden it got quiet as if she didn’t know what to do next. I looked over at her and she had the most puzzled look on her face. I could see the wheels spinning in her head. She was searching for another joke or something, but to no avail. She asked me if this was a first date and I said yes. She then asked if we were going to kiss now or what? I told her that we were not going to do anything now, or tonight for that matter, we had plenty of time to spend together yet and each day could be a new beginning.
